Day 1 - RetroVentures HQ Co. Limerick to Killarney Co. Kerry
230km / 145mi / 4.5hrs riding time
Due to its short duration, this tour is suited to those who will already be in Ireland, rather than flying in. With this in mind, you may arrive direct at the RetroVentures HQ or we will arrange a transfer for you from Adare, Co. Limerick or Limerick City (both included in the price). We must arrive at RetroVentures HQ by 9am for an 10am departure.
Here you'll get introduced to your retro ride. Tea, coffee and refreshments will be served. After a tour and safety briefing, you'll hit the road for your first ride heading west. You'll travel via the Foynes Flying Boat Museum, Tarbert, Listowell, Dingle Peninsular, up, up and over the Conor Pass, and down into the seaside town of Dingle. From here you will head west on the Slea Head drive for the most spectacular scenery, then east via Inch Strand to Killarney Town.
Killarney has a wealth of shops, restaurants, pubs and live music to enjoy. You will enjoy a two night stay in Killarney with Day 2 available for exploring Killarney and its many nearby attractions.
Day 2 – Killarney Co. Kerry (Free Time)
Ask us for advice on the best places to visit and the best attractions to go and see. You can spend a whole day in Killarney and the nearby surrounding area. Why not visit Killarney's craft breweries, Ross Castle, Muckross House, Torq Waterfall and explore the town centre with its many shops, bars and restaurants.
Day 3 – Killarney Co. Kerry to Sneem Co. Kerry
220km / 140mi / 4.5hrs riding time
You'll leave Killarney bright and early heading through the Killarney National Park on route to Moll's Gap. You'll take the lesser known Black Valley road to the breathtaking Gap of Dunloe. From here you will join the Ring of Kerry via the Glencar National Park and Blackstones towards Glenbeigh, Mountain Stage, Portmagee Harbour, Valencia Island, Geokaun Mountain, Bray Head, and onwards through Kerry Cliffs and Waterville to your second hotel of the tour in Sneem. Here you will enjoy a relaxing break at this coastal hotel and spa commanding the finest views of Kenmare Bay and the Atlantic Ocean beyond.
Day 4 - Sneem Co. Kerry to Kinsale Co. Cork
260km / 165mi / 5.5hrs riding time
You'll head to Kinsale today taking in the pretty town of Kenmare, and then snake your way over the mountains to Glengarriff where you can take a short break and enjoy this lovely coastal town. From here we will head west again to pick up the famous Healy Pass - one of the country's best motorcycle routes, and then onwards to the quaint Kilmakillogue Harbour where a nice pub awaits for lunch.
Refreshed, you will head back towards Glengarriff riding the Wild Atlantic Way to Clonakilty, Timoleague Abbey and Old Head of Kinsale. You can check into your Kinsale hotel and enjoy this beautiful coastal town famous for fine fish and chips!
Day 5 - Kinsale Co. Cork to RetroVentures HQ Co. Limerick
145km / 90mi / 3.5hrs riding
Your final day’s riding will bring you back to RetroVentures HQ but will follow a very scenic route through the Limerick vales. You will take in Cork City and stop off at Blarney Castle. What tour of Ireland would be complete without kissing the Blarney Stone, eh? After the castle, it's through the vales cross country back to the HQ.
Once back at the RetroVentures HQ, you can return your bike, unload your luggage, get 'de-briefed', and then you’ll be given the option of a final night’s stay in Adare with transfer, or a transfer to your next destination, whether that be the airport or another part of Ireland to continue your holidays. For those flying out the next day, we can arrange overnight accommodation in Adare or at the airport and a transfer to the airport. Transfers to Adare, or Limerick City or Shannon airport are included but a 3rd night’s accommodation will be extra.
